Analyzing New Breakthrough Points in Micro LED Technology

Recently, Professor Zhang Rong of the Display Home Technology Research Institute, in cooperation with Nanjing University, Southeast University, Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and other units, proposed an ultra-high resolution micro LED display technology scheme based on MoS ₂ thin film transistor driver circuit and monolithic integration.

It is reported that the team has developed a non “massive transfer” low-temperature monolithic heterojunction integration technology, using a nearly non-destructive large-scale two-dimensional semiconductor TFT manufacturing process, achieving 32 × 32 array 1270 PPI high brightness, high resolution micro display can meet the future micro display, vehicle display, Visible light communication and other cross field applications.

It is worth noting that this is the first time in the world to integrate the two emerging Technological convergence of high-performance two-dimensional semiconductor TFT and Micro LED, providing a new Technology roadmap for the future development of Micro LED display technology.

According to the data, the Future Display Technology Research Institute will rely on Xiamen University and the Ka Geng Innovation Laboratory to promote the preparation and establish close cooperation with leading innovative enterprises in the industry such as San’an Optoelectronics, Qianzhao Optoelectronics, Tianma Microelectronics, etc. The Future Display Technology Research Institute focuses on the strategic development needs of the new display industry, with Micro LED display technology as its main focus, focusing on the development and transfer of industry common technologies, forward-looking technologies, display integration technologies, etc.
